We were driving late and needed somewhere to stay in the mountains. The couple running the motel were extremely helpful, and it sounds like the new owners are really trying to turn the place around. There are trains nearby running through the night, though. When we pass through Yale again, I’d definitely stay here.
I’ve been on the road for three years, and this was the worst motel and staff I’ve come across. The staff were incredibly rude, acting as if they were doing me a favor by letting me pay to stay. The rundown motel smelled so strongly of mold that I coughed for the entire day after leaving. I also saw rats around the property. I don’t know if they’ve gotten inside, but it seems likely.
In the historic gold rush town of Yale, B.C., this is a small, simple motel rather than anything fancy. The owners were very nice, and my room was clean and well kept.
We’ve stayed here on many trips through and will be back. It’s always been very nice, clean, and quiet. Wayne and his son Brandon are super nice and very accommodating.
The location is fine and the WiFi worked well. Not every room has A/C, but that usually isn’t an issue.
