We never made it to the Andermatt Alpine Apartments. While trying to book a six-day stay at more than $1,500 per night, we noticed photos of fireplaces. Coming from the Caribbean, we thought one would be a lovely extra for our Alpine holiday. They could have offered a separate room category with a fireplace for an added fee, which we would gladly have paid. Instead, we were told the place “isn't the accommodation for you.” That attitude makes it hard to imagine them being right for guests wanting to enjoy a holiday. A bureaucratic government office might suit that level of service better than hospitality. After seeing the hotel's reply to this review, it seems to backtrack from its original email. Reading other negative reviews also left me wondering whether some photos might be fake, with “not being able to guarantee” a certain apartment type used to cover that up. Maybe not getting a room spared us frustration and discomfort.

The apartments were really clean and nice, and it was only a few minutes' walk to the station. We liked the town too. It felt like good value for a pleasant stay in Switzerland.

My husband and I spent a week here for our first trip to Switzerland, celebrating our second anniversary. We loved the scenery and the food, and the whole experience was 10/10. Even months after leaving, I still think about it. I lost my wallet while we were there, sadly, but the staff helped me and found it. I’m so excited to come back soon. Thank you alpine!!

We had a comfortable, lovely stay for our ski trip, with a great location and nice rooms. There was no fridge, though, even though we booked on the guarantee that there would be one, and that made cooking difficult. Otherwise, it was very nice.
