The location is inconvenient: it's a 10-20 minute walk from the village, and the shuttles to the terminal for skiers run only every 30 minutes. Check-in was disorganized, and I didn't get my room until an hour later. The owner was unpleasant, blocked our rooms on a whim, and I had to negotiate for 30 minutes just to enter mine. The owner also doesn't like children and speaks to them rudely. Losing a room key costs 100chf. They ban smoking on the balconies, yet the owner smokes weed there. I wouldn't recommend staying here; go somewhere else for your own good.

The location was out of this world, with fantastic views from the balcony and terrace below. Rooms were spacious, beds comfortable, and both the facilities and food were superb. Probably the best hostel I've stayed in. Top marks.

Beautiful views of the Alps from this hostel at the top of the hill. I hiked up carrying 23kg, which was pretty tough, so the bus may be the easier choice. Beds and bathrooms were clean, and the amenities were great. A couple of tips for a better stay: bring a sweatshirt because it can get chilly. I'd also avoid booking the 7+ bed rooms with beds on the floor and choose bunk beds instead. If the person next to you snores, has bad body odor, or starts invading your space, it can be a rough night.

We had trouble with parking because spaces are limited, so it's better to reserve one with the hostel in advance. Youth Hostel Grindelwald was cozy, clean, and welcoming. My favorite part was breakfast with the amazing panoramic mountain view. A perfect way to start the day!

Waking up to that beautiful view was a treat. The hostel is up a hill, but before 6 pm you can catch a bus that stops just a two-minute walk away.
