Hotel & Lounge by Hyve Basel SBB

I found the rooms, showers and toilets clean, and the neighborhood had a relaxed feel. The Hyve capsule hotel is very close to the train station, which is really convenient. Even though I arrived late, the friendly receptionist helped me check in. I'd recommend it 👍✨️

For the price during artbasel, it was a nice option. I stayed four nights in a capsule and mainly needed a clean bed. The train station is about three minutes away, and messeplatz is a 40-minute walk or 10 minutes by street car with no changes. Wifi was fast and worked well. You can't find anything better in Basel during the fair for that price. The capsules were surprisingly quiet, though I can imagine a loud person in the shared room or sleeping above you could make it unpleasant. Air circulation inside the closed capsule wasn't great, as others have mentioned, so I slept with the door open and that was fine. The room stayed quiet, with no party or other noise until morning. The main annoyance was the beeping when the room and capsule doors opened. When people came and went a lot in the morning or at night, it could disturb sleep. It would be great if that sound could be turned down or off. The common spaces were clean and well kept, and the staff dealt with any issues quickly. I'd stay again.

The staff made this stay for me. I spent two nights in a woman dorm room, and they were super friendly, always ready to help and clearly wanted guests to have a good time. You can use the kitchen and eat your food in the lobby. It's near the trainstation, which is amazing. I'd come back mostly because of the staff.

The capsule room was more than I expected, with lots of space and a really comfy feel, not claustrophobic at all. The whole building was super clean, including the bathrooms, toilets and rooms, and check-in was easy. It's a modern place with activities, a kitchen and laundry available. Two minutes' walk from the station, with good restaurants around. I can't think of anything wrong with it, it's excellent. I'll definitely come back.
