The town was lovely, and sledding was a lot of fun, though we only had one night in Bergün. The staff were very friendly. The hotel felt very old and expensive, as is common in Switzerland, and the overnight stay itself was disappointing. The mattress sagged badly and we woke up with back pain. With some improvements to the rooms, this could be a very nice hotel.

Breakfast was simple and delicious, and the friendly staff made a good impression. It’s a cosy little spot right in the heart of Bergün, with a room that was a decent size. The mattress was extremely soft and left us expecting back pain, and the decor felt dated. For the high cost of Alpine lodging here, those things are why we gave it four stars. They seem to offer dinner if you let them know by 4 pm, though I’m not sure what it costs. A few renovations and a new mattress would help.

Hotel Albula is simple but pleasant, and the family who runs it clearly cares about their guests. The breakfast was excellent, and it’s a great base for hiking at this time of year.
