We had dinner at Du Glacier twice and enjoyed both visits. The atmosphere and interiors were nice, and the staff were friendly and professional. The food was very tasty overall, with most ingredients produced locally.

The hotel has a lot of history, and I loved the original artwork alongside the updates that made our stay comfortable and cozy. It was clear that the team cared about all the details. We loved being there and wished we’d booked longer. I’d allow at least two nights to enjoy the amenities.

We loved the outdoor jacuzzi. It’s spacious, with lovely views of the mountains and village, and felt like a real bonus. There’s a sauna too, for a fee, though we didn’t try it. The main drawback for a ski weekend is the lack of proper ski storage and a changing room. Boots and gear have to stay near the entrance, in a tiny busy spot where people also get changed, which is awkward. The staff were friendly and professional, and the hotel is right in the village center, an easy walk from the train station and the facilities for reaching the slopes. Our room was comfortable, with a very good bed and modern updates that still respect the building’s original character. The bathroom setup was less practical, with a small shower cabin separate from the toilet. We stayed at Hôtel du Glacier for a couple’s ski weekend and were taken with the historic Belle Époque building and its mountain setting. The owners have done a nice job restoring the rooms and keeping the original furnishings, so walking in feels like stepping back in time. Breakfast was the weakest part. It was a buffet with mostly industrial juices and pastries, mediocre machine coffee, low-quality charcuterie, good local cheeses, some fruit, and yogurts. The carrots, cucumbers, and pineapple were left whole, so preparing fruit and vegetables was very much do-it-yourself. Some croissants from previous days were so hard they were difficult to cut. They could focus more on fresh, local produce, especially cured meats in a region known for them, and offer freshly squeezed juice, better coffee, and eggs or omelets made to order.

I had dinner here as well as spending a night in a single room, and both were fantastic. The room had everything I needed, the bed was super comfortable, and it was quiet apart from a little corridor noise, which didn’t bother me at night. The building’s history and charm were a big part of what I loved about it. Dinner was great, especially the halloumi burger and fries. The two young women handling both reception and the restaurant were lovely, welcoming, and attentive. I’d happily stay again, even for a few nights.

It was such a peaceful place to relax, with breathtaking views and a warm, serene feel throughout. The staff were kind and attentive, looking after every detail, and the meals were delicious. We’d love to return.
