Hotel Auteuil

The only small drawback was the sound of the trains. Light sleepers might want to ask for a room facing the street instead of the station. Everything else made for a lovely three-night stay last week: the room was clean and comfortable, the gym was well equipped, and the staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was great too. The location is perfect, close to the lake, park, botanical gardens and train station. Definitely recommend it.

We slept well even though the hotel is on a busy road. We usually live in a quiet village, so I was surprised by how well the soundproofing worked. The hotel was clean, the beds very comfortable and there was plenty of room. All the staff were welcoming and helpful, and the train station is only five minutes away, handy for getting to and from the airport. My only criticism is that there weren't enough power points for our British conversion plug. I felt it should have USB points too.

We were a family of five at Hotel Auteuil for NYE, and it suited us perfectly. Our two-bedroom setup with an extra bed had an adjoining door, two bathrooms and a kitchenette. The receptionist on duty, Veronica I think, was very helpful and courteous. Coming from Lyon by train, we liked that the main station was only five minutes away. The lake took 15-20 minutes to walk to, with restaurants and shops along the way outside the city centre. We watched the NYE fireworks on the other side of the fountain.

I've stayed at the Auteuil for several years and feel at home there. The staff are wonderful, courteous and helpful, and the rooms are comfortable with pleasant decor. I stayed at other places in Geneva before, but this hotel gives me the best value. The location is a big part of it: close to the train station, with a tram stop right outside. It's about a 20-minute walk to either the Palais des nations or the Old Town, and there are lots of good places to eat nearby.
