Hotel Diplomate

The reception gave us all the information we needed about town, sightseeing, and places to eat and drink, and they were very helpful. Good price for the city center, too. I recommend it.

The hotel's only good point is its location, which is decent, though you can probably find better options closer to the city center. In the room, the Wi-Fi, air conditioning, shower holder, hairdryer and fridge all failed to work. The street noise also came through because there's no soundproofing. Breakfast was just some cakes bought at the supermarket. If you set all those problems aside, it's really nice.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the service was decent. Breakfast was simple but fine. The place feels like it’s from the 80s, which brought back memories of ski trips with my parents. It’s old-fashioned, but good enough.

We arrived to a shocking mess. My colleague’s bed hadn’t been made, and my room was so filthy, with food on the walls, that I couldn’t believe it. They moved me to another room, but I still couldn’t sleep properly. I used my own towel on the bed and my hand towel to wash because I didn’t want to use the blankets. The room was too hot, and opening the windows meant breathing in a lot of cigarette smoke. It felt like a terrible hostel, almost a smokers’ hotel. I wouldn’t recommend it.
