Hotel Central

We could park nearby, and Hotel Central Ginevra is conveniently located, but the stay wasn’t enjoyable. The room was tiny and smelled strongly of bleach, so we had to leave the windows open for fresh air. Housekeeping in the next room started at 8 am, with banging doors and loud cleaning that woke us because the walls aren’t soundproof. The toilet right by the entrance also felt awkward and impractical. For what we paid, it was disappointing.

I stayed for one night at this decent hotel near Geneva Lake. There’s a small restaurant on the ground floor serving breakfast at a reasonable price, and the hotel provides a free transport card for Geneva buses and trams.

The location is right in the city center, but on a quiet street, and it was one of the cheapest Geneva hotels I found while searching. There’s no breakfast, though coffee shops and boulangeries are nearby. The reception isn’t required to be open around the clock, but they adapt and are there when you arrive. The staff were excellent, and the rooms are great, renovated and furnished. They even cleaned the room and changed the towels during our two-night stay. Perfect stay, strongly recommend!

The room was fine, and mine was on the same floor, so I didn’t need to use the stairs. The bathroom setup was unusual, with a very small shower, and there was often a smell like stagnant water. Still, I was glad to have a private bathroom and a mostly private balcony. The bed was quite firm. The location is great, close to lots of transit, and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
