The views from the hotel are stunning, and getting around was easy since guests can use public transport free as far as Montreux and Lausanne. The nearby station is clearly visible and trains pass frequently, but they barely bothered us. We ate well in the restaurant, where the food was delicious and the staff friendly and helpful. It gets busy, so book dinner ahead. Breakfast had lots of choice, including local cheese and homemade jams. Philippe and Raymonde made us feel very welcome and had good suggestions for things to do nearby. And do visit the chicken coop. The tiny heritage chickens sit on swings or wander around.

I’d been hoping to try this restaurant for a long time, and finally got there on a lovely sunny day. We sat out on the terrace with a beautiful view over the lake. See I e was attentive and very friendly, and the food was excellent for the price. The setting and view really add to the meal. A train passes now and then, but it wasn’t bothersome. I’ll be back.

The rooms have character, with traditional furnishings and a great view, and the internet is free. The hotel is behind a railway line, with at least four trains an hour, though it isn’t noisy. Guests can get complimentary train tickets, but you have to ask for them. It’s about 10 minutes from central Lausanne and could be fun for railway fans. The hosts are attentive, the staff are very friendly, and the auberge is a great choice for traditional fine dining. There’s an excellent wine selection, but it’s always busy, so book ahead. The rooms are quirky and it’s a shame the place isn’t wheelchair accessible yet.

The setting and the view are lovely, even with the railway tracks nearby. I enjoyed the fish, but there’s no vegetarian main course apart from a salad. I wouldn’t choose the millefeuille for dessert again. It was very heavy and had a lot of cream.

A beautiful room and property, with kind, helpful staff and a delicious breakfast. The hotel is a wonderful place to stay near Lausanne, and the train station is less than a minute away on foot, making it easy to explore the Lake Geneva area. I’d gladly recommend it.
