Hotel Restaurant Alpina

The view from Hotel Alphina is amazing, and its location in Grindelwald is convenient. My room was very clean, which matters most to me. Breakfast choices are limited, but the restaurant is uber cosy, has good coffee, and will make eggs on request. I enjoyed my mornings there. Two things could be improved: the bed and pillows were too soft for us, and a pickup and drop-off service would be great. The slope up and down to the hotel can be physically draining and dangerous in winter.

The hotel has a family-run feel that makes you feel at home, with the hosts working from morning until night. The room size was comfortable for two, and both dinner and breakfast were good. Dinner was very good quality for the price, and breakfast was simple and cozy, with a stunning view. It’s just a short walk to the train station. We’d definitely stay again if we return to Grindelwald.

The restaurant stood out for its very decent five-course dinner, authentic food, and surprisingly affordable prices for Switzerland. It was excellent value and a nice way to try local Swiss cuisine without overpaying. Hotel Alpina is a warm, genuine family-run place with heart and soul. The family engages with guests from arrival through check-out and sincerely cares about their stay. The hardworking father, though nearing retirement, is still hands-on with everything, from maintenance and kitchen work to check-in, check-out, and daily operations. You can see him moving around and making sure the details are taken care of. If you’re after a family-run hotel in Grindelwald with good food and real hospitality, I highly recommend it. The balcony views are wonderful, and the hotel is in a very good location. It’s such a clean, cute place, and the reception decor is amazing. In my opinion, it’s one of the best hotels in Grindelwald! Inês Araújo
