Hotel Landhaus Sv Ntis Herisau

The bathroom was spotless, and breakfast was good. My large room had lovely windows that let in plenty of natural light.

I had a terrible stay. There was no ventilation, but I couldn’t leave the window open because of constant, loud road noise from 07h to 23h. A bright spotlight shone straight into the room, and there was construction and a bar across the street. The mattress was only 10cm thick, with a pilled sheet that needs replacing, and there was a urine stain in the shower. The room was big and otherwise clean, but nearly all the electrical sockets were blocked by the bed or furniture. The overhead light flickered like a ghost, and the bedside lamps were waaaay too bright. The staff were extremely rude. In writing, they called me "people like you." They ignored me while I waited to check out and also when I was dining. Men were offered coffee refills and had their dirty plates cleared, while I was left in the corner.

The food was fresh and reasonably priced for Switzerland. The portions were a bit too big for me, an Asian girl, but I managed to finish because it wasn’t too salty compared with other Swiss restaurants. The staff are friendly, and I love the hot chocolate here. I’ll definitely come back.

The hotel is excellent and centrally located in Herisau, with good rooms. What really impressed me was the staff. They’re excellent and a real example of Swiss hospitality.
