The room looked comfortable in the photos, but when my family and I arrived, it was stuffy with hardly any ventilation and no toiletries. The floors shook whenever we opened our luggage. We also had to haul our bags up to the fourth floor because management hadn’t mentioned there was no lift. We tried to make it work for the three nights we had booked, but the noise from the restaurants below kept my family from sleeping peacefully. We’d already paid the full amount, yet after one night we moved to a better hotel because it was unbearable. In all the three continents I’ve visited, this has been the worst place my family and I have stayed. I would give it zero stars if I could. I can’t trust the positive reviews to be authentic, and I’m writing this long review because I’m so frustrated. If you don’t want your impression of Interlaken ruined, avoid this place like the plague.

The rooms were shabby and very compact for the going rates. Also, the amount charged was higher than the quote: the prices differed at payment, and the invoices weren’t clear about the extra fees and taxes. My stay was from 20.05.19 to 25.05.19.

The apartment was dirty and smelly, and the fridge didn’t work. There was no cupboard or floor mat, and the receptionist was aggressive and rude. A truly horrific experience. Unless you’re desperate, don’t rent this apartment.

Finding the place was confusing. I’d booked through a well-known hotel booking website, but was told on arrival to check in at the neighboring Toscana, since one side is a hotel and the other is an apartment. The apartment has no elevator, so carrying heavy luggage up the stairs was painful. Inside, the basic kitchenette had an electric stove with one side that didn’t work, a kettle, a tiny refrigerator for refrigeration only, a microwave, a counter, and some cups, plates, and cutlery. That’s enough for noodles or microwave meals, but not much else. There was a hairdryer. The shower temperature kept changing, and without a floor drain even a slightly strong shower flooded the bathroom. Self-service laundry was very expensive, so I wouldn’t use it unless absolutely necessary. The price wasn’t cheap either. Its main plus was being close to the busy Interlaken area, which had plenty going on both day and night.
