The location isn’t bad, but hygiene and cleanliness clearly don’t matter here. If all you need is somewhere to leave your bags, that may be the only use for this place. Over our three nights, things just got worse. I rarely write bad reviews, but this was one of the worst places I’ve stayed. The sheets in the supposedly cleaned bedroom were stained. We messaged the host many times for clean ones, got no reply until two nights in, and still weren’t given any. The advertised twin room was misleading too: the headboard was for a twin bed, but the beds were separate framed singles with a single duvet on each, not much use for a couple. Rubbish was left in the hallways, outside our door, and overflowing from the bins. The whole place smelled mouldy and stale, as if it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The nearly unusable kitchen had cockroaches on the counter and old food in the fridge, so we didn’t buy anything that needed refrigeration. The pots and pans were filthy, so we bought our own crockery and pots just to eat and use the partly connected, plumbed-in stovetop. Renovations were left half closed up, and doors, showerheads, and curtains weren’t fitted properly. The bathrooms were disgusting: hair everywhere, no toilet paper in some, mould on the ceiling, urine across the floor, and a toilet leaking from the S-bend. The main front door was left open all night. There’s plenty more wrong, and I hope others see this before booking. What a shame, since Interlaken is so lovely. Spend the extra coin. Also, don’t trust or use the discount posters. We booked paragliding online for 5 Franc cheaper than their discounted price. Dodgy!

The room itself was comfortable, and it’s easy to get to other sightseeing spots from here. The train and bus stations are a three-minute walk away, with lots of shops and supermarkets nearby. There’s no reception, so for help you have to go to the other hotel. During my stay, I saw two groups of visitors run into check-in problems. The common areas also weren’t cleaned thoroughly. On check-in day, I tried to use the toilet and found the bowl hadn’t been cleared.

The location made the stay convenient, with easy access to the train station, restaurants, and grocery stores. Be aware that room service isn’t available. During booking, I noticed that a representative would meet guests in person instead. I also don’t think the setup is suitable for families.

Works for someone who just needs a place to sleep and will be out all day. The bed could’ve been more comfortable.
