Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle

The location is the one drawback for a longer stay: it’s near the airport, not downtown. If it were central, I’d gladly stay more than a night. That said, as a Hyatt Globalist who has stayed at many Hyatt Regency hotels, I found this one among the best for overall quality. The room was comfortable and well kept, breakfast was good, and the gym was excellent, especially the sauna.

We changed our plans after Claudia at Hyatt Regency kindly offered to store our bags for three days while we visited Milan, at no charge. Hyatt Place next door had wanted 5CHF per bag per day, and we’d booked three separate stays there during our 21-day Switzerland visit. After Claudia’s offer, we cancelled those future reservations and switched to the Regency. Thank you, Claudia. Breakfast at Babel was so good that our planned quick bite turned into more than an hour. Supervisor Moe was amazing, multitasking with a constant smile and five-star service. She coordinated the team smoothly so every guest felt important, and the individual specialty dishes from the kitchen were varied and truly works of art. Thank you, Moe, for making breakfast so lovely. We look forward to seeing you again when we return for our next stay after the weekend.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times, so I feel I can review it. The location is unbeatable, whether you have an early flight or a meeting nearby. The staff are mostly friendly and welcoming, and the facilities are good. The gym is particularly good for a hotel. There are a few downsides too, which I’ll explain below.

I come through Zurich every year on my way to Davos, and this is my preferred stop. The rooms feel modern and comfortable, and I sleep well. Breakfast is tasty and well above average, with enough choice that a longer stay doesn’t get boring. Staff are generally responsive and help sort out problems so I can get into my room and back out quickly. Getting around is easy: it’s a five-minute walk from the airport train station and 10-15 minutes on foot to the check-in desks or arrivals baggage carousels. Trains to Zurich main station take a quick 12 minutes, with many services going each hour. I’d stay at the airport instead of in town. Access to the Hyatt lounge and spa/gym makes the stay even better.
