Hotel Jean-Jacques Rousseau

The rooms were clean, spacious and well equipped, and the restaurant served very high-quality food. I can't decide between three and four stars: my stay was worth four, while my friend's was probably only worth two. There were nine of us, and because staff got the room availability wrong, my friend's belongings were moved into another person's room in our group while he was out, without anyone telling him. A simple apology and shrug were all we got, with no sign they wanted to make up for it, even though some dissatisfaction was predictable. It's a really good hotel otherwise, so that's a shame. Three stars from me.

The food was a real highlight during the three-day corporate off-site I spent here. Each meal was a delight, with excellent ingredients, careful cooking and a nice balance. The hotel also had the clean, well-maintained rooms, friendly staff and quiet setting with lovely scenery I'd expect in Switzerland. I loved my stay and would highly recommend it for a meal or a visit. You won't be disappointed.

We had lunch on a gorgeous day and the terrace made the superb setting feel like heaven. It's not cheap, but the menu is great, the food very tasty, and some dishes have an original twist. They like to experiment with new things on the menu. The service was excellent and suited the level of the place. I love going there from time to time.

The place and the food are nice, but the service left a lot to be desired. We had booked a table for my mother's birthday after hearing the restaurant was quite fancy, yet they seated us in a loud, crowded area despite a quieter one nearby. My grandfather was ill and needed to get back into care, so we asked on arrival if things could be sped up. About 10 minutes later, the waitress brought amuse-bouches without asking about allergies, vegan diets or anything else. There were eight of us and we ordered one meal each, no starters, because of the time limit imposed by my grandfather's health. We then waited at least 20 minutes for the plates. They didn't change the cutlery either, even though I'd had fish and still had my meat fork and knife.
