Hotel Meilenstein

The rooms and surroundings were good, but the food wasn't the best, and the location wasn't great either. It's a bit far from the city, so I'd recommend it if you're not staying here for your whole trip.

A good place to stop over on the way to somewhere else. There's plenty of parking, the rooms are beautifully finished, and the staff are very friendly. The displayed car collection is worth a look. I'm a car enthusiast and even went to see it twice :). The breakfast could be fresher, though. It didn't really match the hotel's setting or the price.

The museum was nice to see, and the ladies at reception were really nice. The rest of the stay left a lot to be desired. There's a bar right by the entrance that plays very loud music after sunset. We expected a calmer, more sophisticated atmosphere, but at night the music could still be heard clearly from our upper-floor room, sometimes until 1:00am. The rooms were spacious, but very dusty. There was a large spider web on the terrace chairs, and the terrace isn't private: there's only a short dividing wall, and someone who steps forward can see all the rooms on that side of the floor. The inside of the room also can't be locked, so cleaning staff can open the door from outside while you're in there. That happened to us, even though they knew we were inside. Hygiene really fell short of what I expected. Breakfast was quite average, with little variety for a 4-star hotel. Some pastries were dry, and the scrambled eggs were next to the bacon. Some people used the same spatula for both, which might not work for anyone who doesn't eat meat or bacon. One of the breakfast waitresses was also really rude and never smiled.

We had a salsa party here. It's a good place to hold a party for everyone, go for it.
