B&B Bettstatt-Neustadt

Midway through my stay I got locked out of the hotel. I couldn’t call the manager because I don’t have a local number, and he isn’t on WhatsApp. Messaging was the only way to reach him, but by the time he replied, another guest had already helped me get back in. Check-in was a hassle, too: the hotel was locked and the manager had personal business to deal with, even though it was after check-in time. It took more than 40 minutes. There was major noisy construction outside, and nobody warned me about it, as a courtesy other hotels showed. The rooms are cluttered with very old furniture and posters peeling off the walls. It’s called a Bed & Breakfast, but there’s no breakfast. Why not update the business name? The manager said, “It’s somewhere to sleep,” when I walked into the room, basically acknowledging how outdated it was. There hasn’t been even $1 of investment or maintenance in years. You’re paying for somewhere to sleep, and that’s all the value on offer. If it were cheap, I’d excuse these shortcomings, but at this price it isn’t worth staying here.

We enjoyed our stay. The place was clean and well located, and our host was very kind and helpful.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room felt roomy, modern, and very clean. Most attractions were easy to reach on foot. The staff were warm and accommodating, even getting our room ready early after we arrived ahead of time. Breakfast was simple but tasty and filling, and the Wi-Fi was very fast, along with the modern elevator and doors. I’d happily recommend staying here.

We spent about a week here with our two-year-old. The rooms are basic, clean, and moderate in size, while the bathroom was spacious. It was shared, but since we were the only ones in the apartment at the time, it felt private. Breakfast had plenty to choose from and kept us full. The owners were helpful and quick to respond, and we’d be glad to visit again.
