Hotel Spatz

The free bus pass and Lucerne wifi came with the room booking, and the location was handy, right in front of a bus stop and minutes from downtown Lucerne. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a good-sized bathroom and nice amenities. The shower stall was incredibly small, though, and the bathroom door had no lock. Parking costs extra and the space was tight. Breakfast wasn’t included, and the add-on price was extremely high.

It was convenient having several bus lines right at the door for getting to and from lucerne station. The room felt like a lived-in apartment and had an off smell, though. There was no AC, the road outside was loud, and the staff came across as slightly rude and unwelcoming.

The reception staff were very friendly, and the room was clean, comfortable, and had what I needed. Breakfast was decent, with a small buffet that gets replenished when things run out. The bread was especially delicious. The hotel is well located, with a bus stop right outside and a 15-20 minute walk to the center of Lucerne. Parking is available for an extra 12 CHF a day, but the space is very narrow and small. I honestly couldn’t understand how cars were supposed to park sideways, since ours stuck halfway into the passage, so we used a flat parking lot instead. Also, that was some of the worst coffee I’ve had. The employees should learn how to make coffee :D

Samer at reception was incredibly helpful when we arrived quite late to check in. There’s no lift, and he kindly carried our luggage, which we really appreciated after a long day. The hotel was very nice, the room spacious enough, and everything perfectly clean. We had a very pleasant stay.
