Hôtel Bon Port

The male front desk manager was rude, arrogant and unprofessional, with no greeting or respect and what felt like a clearly discriminatory attitude. Completely unacceptable for a hotel in Switzerland. The hotel is very old and poorly maintained, and the mattress was badly sunken. The service didn’t match the booking, and the charges and deposit issues were unjustified and poorly explained. This property doesn’t deserve three stars. At best, it’s a two-star hotel or closer to a hostel. I strongly advise against staying here. Don’t stay here!

The location was great for everything we wanted to see in Montreux. Most places on our list were within about a 15-minute walk, except Chillon Castle, which we planned to visit while driving out of town. The price was very reasonable compared with nearby places, and the staff were friendly. I’d stay again if I return. The room was dated but clean, with just some dust under the bed that I noticed after my kiddo dropped his toy from McD's. I also spotted a small problem with the bed then, and the staff were grateful that I pointed it out so they could fix it. Breakfast was a very simple continental spread.

The facilities were fine, and the other staff tried to stay professional, but one person ruined the final stop of our trip in Switzerland. We won’t return and can’t recommend the hotel. This was the worst hotel experience of our travels. A middle-aged male front desk employee with glasses was rude, arrogant and impatient from the start. When we went to collect our luggage from storage, he shouted at us in a condescending way, as if we were children. Then we raised a concern about our room, and at first he refused to help. After we asked several times, he suddenly got angry and shouted in front of other guests, “If the room is really as you say, I’ll give you 100 francs, otherwise you give me 100 francs!” It was humiliating and completely unacceptable from a hotel employee.

We stayed at the Bon Port Hotel for a few days on a business trip. Mr. Goncalves gave us a very warm welcome and asked what time we wanted breakfast, then arranged it to suit our request. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned, and we’ll definitely stay there again on our next trip.
