Romantik Hotel Mont-Blanc au Lac

We only ate lunch at the garden restaurant, and the food was awful. The filets de perché at 50,00 CHF for 8 pièces were Hardy unfrozen, as were the rustis. The tarte tatin was served call. Service was condescending. The location and view are the only positives, so I can't recommend this restaurant.

Our car was towed by the police the morning we were leaving, costing us 350 CHF to get it back and a 40 CHF fine. We'd asked the receptionist about parking when we arrived, including whether we needed a permit or anything to display on the dashboard. She assured us our spot was fine through Sunday and no paper was needed. It turned out a Sunday market was scheduled, which the hotel manager was allegedly unaware of. The next day, another receptionist hinted that we should have had a parking paper from the hotel. When we pointed out the conflicting advice, which cost us nearly 400 CHF and caused so much stress, she said, as we understood it, that the hotel wasn't responsible for knowing what was happening in the area. It was a romantic getaway that was meant to be memorable, but staff negligence and misinformation made it an expensive, stressful nightmare. It ruined the trip and genuinely eroded my trust in hospitality.

The breakfast was amazing, and it's easy to walk to markets, churches, and other tourist sights around Morges. We had excellent service and stunning views of Lake Geneva and the Alps. The building seems to be an old structure that's been renovated, though some rooms are a bit small and the lift only fits one person with luggage. That wasn't an issue for me. Great hotel, highly recommended.

We used the rooms, conference facilities, and restaurants. The setting is beautiful, with great views and good food. The service outdoors especially was inflexible, and the staff honestly weren't friendly at all. It's a shame, since everything else is wonderful. A nice view doesn't excuse that attitude, and the service definitely needs to improve.
