Holiday Inn Express Aarburg - Oftringen

We arrived really late, and the helpful staff member made everything easy. I wish I’d caught her name. Breakfast had a very good selection, and the location worked well for our road trip. Just remember, Swiss plugs are different! We’ve stayed here a couple of times already and will come back when our next road trip passes this way.

It’s handy for the highway junctions towards Bern, Basel, and Zurich, and bus lines connect it well with Arburg and Olten. The hotel is right by the shopping center, which has a large free parking lot, a real plus. The staff were friendly, one of the women spoke excellent English, and breakfast was excellent. Travelers from Croatia may especially appreciate that there’s usually someone at the center or hotel who speaks our language. Recommended.

The small mall next door is a real plus. You can get food or a drink and have lunch or dinner within five minutes. The staff were great, though the mattress felt a little too soft for me. If you're traveling alone or are new to Switzerland, keep in mind this isn't a tourist area. You’ll need a 7-10 minute bus ride to the train station to make your connection. Even so, I’m glad I stayed here. My stay was satisfactory overall. I thought breakfast could be better: mostly pastries, cereal, sliced meat, and hard-boiled eggs. At least regular bacon and scrambled eggs would be nice. Juice and coffee were free.

Sandy at reception was welcoming, friendly, and really helpful. The service had just the right amount of attention without feeling overbearing. The room was spotless, the beds incredibly comfortable, and the shower was wonderful. Breakfast was included, tasty, and filling. I also liked the interior decor, with its tasteful furniture placement and nice layout. It was easy to reach, with access to major roads in every direction. The hotel provided free parking and a fast charging station for electric cars.
