Hotel La Barca Blu

The view is perfect and the location is great, but the room was much too expensive for what we got, over 300/night. The bathroom was tiny, and even the sleeping room felt small. There's no air conditioning, just an old noisy fan, and opening the windows isn't really possible because the street is so loud. Breakfast wasn't anything special either. We expected more for that price.

The small balcony had a nice lake view, and our room was clean and tidy, with a coffee machine in it. Check-in was easy and pleasant, and there was good parking in the basement when we arrived by car. There's no lift, though that didn't bother us. Because of the virus situation, breakfast came in a box. The hotel is across the road from a luxury hotel, where we went for drinks. La Barca Blu sits above Locarno and is worth what you pay. It's a perfectly fine budget option, and I could imagine staying again if I'm back in this part of Switzerland.

What a start to the day, an incredible sunrise with a really nice breakfast to go with it. Everything was very clean, the shower was great, and coffee on the balcony was a wow moment. Amazing from the beginning through checkout.

The street can get noisy, and other guests can too. Rooms are clean, the staff are nice, and the breakfast selection is small, but they keep refilling it right through to the end. The bathroom is a bit tight, though the shower is a good size.
