One of the best spots for a cross-country ski holiday, and the train connections are okay. The rooms are simple but have what you need, with wonderfully warm floor heating you can adjust. People are really nice, and breakfast at the nearby hotel is top-notch. Some of the other guests can be a bit “interesting,” though. 😬🤷🏻♂️ Definitely recommended, especially for the value around the Upper Engadin!

The food is good and the price is okay for Switzerland and this area. The main issue is how slow and disorganized the service was. We came on December 31, but didn’t expect a New Year’s Eve kind of lunch service. We saw dishes brought out from the kitchen, then staff going around to all the tables to ask who had ordered each one. It happened once, then four or five times in an hour, which seemed odd. The staff were rushing around, but it didn’t seem to help much. If you want to see the glacier in winter, I’d hike first and eat afterwards. Otherwise, lunch here might leave you setting off after dark. Apart from the slowness, it’s a pretty good restaurant. Now you know 😉
