The shared areas were a nice surprise, with a roomy lobby for relaxing or chatting and other spaces like a billiard room and a little theatre. The old building is very clean and well kept. My only gripe was the toilet in the single room, which felt a bit too small for a proper shower. I’d stay here again.

The red library kept our kids busy with games while my husband and I enjoyed a coffee or a drink. We all had a lovely stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and both breakfast and the pizza restaurant were fantastic. Our room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. We’d definitely come back.

I wouldn’t recommend this place for solo travelers, given the comfort and value. It’s expensive for what you get, with no on-site parking and an inconvenient walk to public parking. The shower leaked, the sink drain was awkward, and the shower itself was tiny with a low ceiling. There’s also very little in the room, no safe or fridge. There are much better options nearby unless everything else is booked.

The four-course dinner was the highlight of our stay. We came with our children and grandparents and had three renovated rooms. The staff were friendly throughout.

We’ve stayed here twice now, and had a lot of fun with the Christmas activities both times. It’s a lovely family-run hotel with a warm atmosphere and friendly staff, right in central Pontresina. Excellent cross-country skiing is within walking distance, and the food was tasty and plentiful.
