Boutique Hotel Alpina (Adults only)

The classic, home-like feel made our stay cozy and peaceful, more like being somewhere welcoming than in a typical hotel. The staff were polite, friendly, and helpful the whole time, and the hotel was very clean. I’d definitely recommend it for a pleasant stay.

The mountain view from our room was lovely, especially when the rain started, and the lift was a welcome convenience. The rooms have a clean, traditional chalet style, though the bed felt a bit too soft. The hotel is peaceful, the staff are accommodating, and breakfast was good quality. We also loved the doggo! It’s a little way from the city centre, but the hotel gives you a free pass and the bus or train ride is short. Air-conditioning would be a useful addition, though I understand that could be difficult in an old three-star building. We loved our stay at Alpina Hotel.

We couldn’t get over the morning view of the lake right in front of the hotel. This wooden property has more than 100 years of history, and it sits in a quiet village that’s still easy to reach, just six stops from Interlaken OST station. Guests were respectful of the peaceful atmosphere, which made it easy to relax. The host was kind and welcoming. She sent a thoughtful message before we arrived, then greeted us warmly and clearly explained how to use the facilities. We’re very grateful for her hospitality. Thank you so much!

Nanda, who mainly serves breakfast in the restaurant, was incredible. She speaks several languages with ease and kept things flowing comfortably for every guest. The lake views are great, the rooms are a good size, and it was quiet between rooms. Outside, we only heard the train about once an hour. Getting to Interlaken Ost or taking the regional train toward Meiringen is easy with a short bus or train ride. The hotel provides a free local transit card, and the SBB app is very easy to use around Switzerland. For a solid three-star stay, a few things could be better. The curtains let in lots of light, and the rooms stayed hot even at night. The beds and pillows are very soft, so keep that in mind if you prefer a firmer surface. The shower gel, shampoo, and hand soap seemed low quality. Daily cleaning mostly meant fresh towels, making the bed, and emptying the bin. We had to ask for toilet paper and other basics, which was only a little frustrating.
