Hotel Europe

We had one of the best meals of our 18-day tour through Europe at the jazz-themed restaurant, and the host at the entrance made us feel welcome. The room was a Junior Suite with plenty of closet space, a fridge, and a Nespresso machine for coffee. The king bed was wonderful to sleep in. Right next door to the Opera House, this place feels like a hidden gem in the heart of Zurich. The newly renovated room kept its old-world charm while offering modern amenities. Its grand furnishings, from the chandelier hanging from the 18-foot ceiling to the rich curtains and fabric wallpaper, made the stay feel special. Thank you for a lovely time in Zuruch!

I accidentally left a ring in the safe in room C1. It wasn’t worth much, but it meant a lot to me, so I’m hoping someone might find it. If a future guest in C1 comes across a lonely ring in the safe, please get in touch. A little message in a bottle for Christmas season. The hotel itself was lovely. The service was warm and friendly, without any fuss or pretence, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and genuine. Being right by the lake made the stay feel peaceful and special.

I asked to cancel and get a refund a week ahead of my stay because a close friend had died. The hotel wouldn’t make any exception or show understanding, despite the circumstances. Policies matter, but basic empathy does too. This was a very disappointing experience, and I can’t recommend the hotel.

Breakfast is worth trying if you like a slower start to the day. It’s a nice buffet, and the staff gave me a particularly warm welcome in the morning. I didn’t have time to enjoy a cozy dinner, unfortunately. If you’re coming from the airport, it’s a short walk from Stadelhofen train station. I really enjoyed my stay.
