The quiet was lovely, and I could live with the room being warm. They had a fan, though no air conditioning, which I know is common. What bothered me more was having no kettle, spoons, tea or coffee. The hotel seems to present that as a benefit or a forward-thinking choice, but to me it felt like cost cutting at the expense of guest comfort. We were there for two nights, and the room itself was fine. Check-in was another story. Our reservation wasn’t in the system, apparently because both rooms were under the same surname. My parents were in the second room, so of course they had the same name. It took a long time to sort out, and an actual person there to welcome us could have prevented the delay. A kind woman from the restaurant let us use her Swiss phone to call the help number. Coming from another country, I have no idea how we’d have checked in otherwise. The man who answered sounded keen to end the call, and my husband had to keep asking him to stay on the line until we had checked into both rooms. I stay in hotels around the world regularly and haven’t come across a system like this. The hotel’s replies to similar reviews make it sound like a smart, cutting-edge process, but late check-ins and early departures are options at hotels everywhere. A person handles that, so I don’t understand why the hotel talks as if it isn’t possible.

Our stay was badly let down by housekeeping. The room hasn’t been cleaned for the last two days, even though we’ve been here for several days. They haven’t changed the towels or replenished basic bathroom items like toothbrushes and other supplies. It’s shocking to see such basic cleanliness and guest service overlooked. This has ruined our stay and reflects very poorly on the hotel’s management.

The ground-floor restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, and the room was spotlessly clean. The wellness area is small, but really comfortable and convenient. There isn’t staff service because check-in is self-service, but honestly, I thought the hotel was super nice. I don’t understand the bad comments.

The little restaurant downstairs is a lovely place to meet someone Swiss or get a feel for Swiss culture, and the staff were amazing. The sauna and hammam both worked perfectly, too. I had such a delightful time here and honestly don’t understand the criticism. It was awesome spending time there.

We’ve been here for two days, but staff still haven’t serviced the room. We were out for about 8-9 hours, from morning until evening, with the “clean the room” card on the door. This was the worst part of our Switzerland tour.
