Vegan Health Hotel Sonnenberg

We recently had dinner at this vegan restaurant in Appenzell, and it was better than we expected. The surprise menu had four courses, an appetizer, soup, main course, and dessert, with refreshing infused water included. Each dish was delicious and featured seasonal, organic vegetables. The room felt warm and welcoming, and attentive staff made the meal even more enjoyable. A great choice in Appenzell for vegans or anyone who appreciates high-quality, health-conscious food. Highly recommended!

Everything was vegan and healthy, with no sugar or artificial ingredients, and it was delicious. I haven't had food this varied and this good in ages, even though I've tried plenty in my life. Hotel Sonnenberg really impressed me. I'd definitely go back.

The food alone makes me want to return. Everything was plant based, gluten free, sugar free, and soy free, yet tasted amazing. Breakfast had a wide mix of sweet and savory dishes, alkaline soup, nuts, seeds, small pancakes, vegan yogurt, lots of little treats, porridge, vegetables, fresh juices, and more. The lunch buffet brought plenty of variety too, from salads and hot dishes to legumes, potatoes, rice, and desserts. And the four course dinners were mouthwatering, colorful, and full of different flavors, served by incredibly sweet servers. The restaurant has a luxurious feel where you just want to linger and enjoy the moment. The hotel itself deserves its ****: the rooms were cozy, comfortable, equipped with what you'd need, and surprisingly soundproof. After a week in Schwellbrunn, I miss the welcoming atmosphere, the staff, views of Säntis and the surrounding mountains and hills, hearing cows, and the slow village life. It's such a beautiful place. Is it the only place of its kind on the planet? 😃 I highly recommend it, whether or not you avoid animal products, especially if you're interested in healthy cooking. 🍓

We had a lovely dinner cooked by head chef Andrin, and the breakfast buffet was generous with lots of choice. The rooms were comfortable and pleasant, set in calm countryside surroundings. Everyone was friendly and welcoming.
