The friendly staff give this hotel a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and the showers in the family rooms are top rate. Breakfast has a good selection of fresh food. It’s also close to St Gallen, a transport hub, and the main attractions.

The shower was the one letdown: it has two separate taps, so getting the temperature right was difficult, and the water kept swinging between hot and cold. Apart from that, this six-story hotel is a lovely alternative to the big chains, newly renovated to a high standard. My room was exceptionally spacious and spotless, with a good quality safe, and the separate bathroom was roomy and clean too. The staff were welcoming and very friendly, which made the stay feel personal and professional. A modern, spacious place with great service, and easy to recommend.

We were there for an office team building and enjoyed the stay. The interiors were fabulous, the beds comfortable, and breakfast nice. It’s right in the city center, so walking everywhere is easy, though opening the window at night to cool the room can bring some noise. Ear plugs may help. The parking under the hotel was full, so we had to use another parking complex. We could pull up in front of the hotel briefly to unload our luggage. I’d stay there again if I went to St. Gallen.

I’ve visited from the UK five times over four years, and I keep coming back to Hotel Walhalla despite the other options in St. Gallen. The location is perfect, the welcome is warm, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent, and the staff are all friendly and helpful. Special thanks to the barman, who somehow remembered me when I returned after my very first stay. That personal touch means a lot. I’ll be back.

This was my third stay here for a business trip, and until this visit I’d always been very satisfied. My checkout was confirmed for 12:00 PM, but housekeeping came around 10:30 AM to clean. I told her my checkout time, and she acknowledged it and left. Then at about 11:30, someone knocked very loudly on my door twice within a short time. I don’t think I misheard. I asked who it was right away, but no one answered. I hope it wasn’t because I was still in the room before my confirmed checkout time, and that someone simply knocked on the wrong door by mistake.
