The beds were very comfortable, even if they didn’t look it, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was decent and included, and the location is remarkably good. I stayed three nights with a friend. It’s quite basic, but has enough going for it to make it a worthwhile choice for a shorter visit.

The room and bed were good, and everything was clean. But the old windows let in every bit of street noise, which was annoying with the Saturday night party crowd. You also have to pass through the small bar by the entrance to reach the rooms. That’s normally fine, but they didn’t seem to take corona measures seriously, which made it feel unsafe for hotel guests too.

For 190 CHF total, we spent two nights in a double room that felt like a dump. The bed was two thin single mattresses on a low frame, with extremely old, discolored Ikea pillows under the cases. The walls were so thin we heard the man next door snoring all night, and we got just three hours of sleep the second night before leaving at 08:40. At 06:30, his work colleague came to collect him and knocked on our door by mistake. I suspect the hotel may have long-stay construction workers. The shared “bathrooms” were another horror. It felt like the hotel was taking in money day after day without putting anything back into the rooms. To me, it wasn’t even worth 50 CHF, and the central location couldn’t make up for it.

It was fine, nothing special. There’s no restaurant, though the central location means plenty of places to eat nearby. It has a bistro bar, and breakfast was okay, nothing special either.
