The helicopter ride was spacious and warm, and the views made the 1,000 CHF feel worth it to me, even though it’s very expensive. Book ahead. I’d come back to BlackRock now that I know my way around, and you can drive from there to Italy too. We came from the UK for a pre-wedding photoshoot. We flew to Zurich, took the train to VISP, then changed for Stalden-Saas. The trains were reliable, and Otto kindly collected us at the station. I’d recommend getting a SwissPass. Otto showed us how all the appliances worked at check-in. The apartment felt clean, high-tech and futuristic. There was a sauna, though we didn’t have time to use it. The kitchen had plenty of food already, including pasta, sauces, seasoning, milk, juice, eggs, cheese, meat or fish, and salad, so we didn’t need to shop. Slippers, toiletries and a hair dryer were provided, and Otto seemed to have thought of nearly every comfort. I sleep on my side, so I was especially happy with the mattress. I later found out it was Tempur memory foam. There’s a huge TV on the wall. The bedroom has no curtains, which felt a little scary, though the area is so empty that someone walking by seemed unlikely. The shower had great jets, and the toilet was high-tech. Otto also suggested good local photo spots and drove us to them. If you’re thinking of bringing him a gift, I think he’d appreciate a collector’s item.
