Hotel Belair

The room was spotless, the staff were welcoming, and they took care of all the details. A truly wonderful stay. I'd definitely come back.

Lots of places to eat and supermarkets nearby, and the staff were friendly. The bus from the airport made it easy to reach the hotel, and the train station gave us easy access to historic Zürich. Great value for money.

The rooms were passable, though a little smelly and dated. Having keys for the room doors felt old-fashioned. The staff were helpful but rather monotone. Breakfast was okay, but the buffet had limited choices, and it got tedious having to ask a barista for a drink each time. Parking is extremely limited. For what we got, it was quite expensive, and I wouldn't call this a four-star hotel.

The shower floor was extremely slippery and needs urgent attention. During my three-night stay, they also didn't replace the toiletries or complimentary water. Breakfast at the attached restaurant was well made but extremely basic, with few choices and no omelettes. The service was courteous, though it came across as amateurish. No local tips were offered at check-in, which would've been interesting, and I wouldn't expect a four-star hotel to have no 24-hour front desk. My room was near reception, and I woke up to a strong cooking smell from the restaurant, apparently coming through the AC system. A rough start to the day. The room itself was clean and spacious, with a good bathroom, comfortable shower, and courtesy shower gel. Wi-Fi was reliable, the minibar was useful, and there was a generous selection of TV channels. Bathrobes and slippers were provided, and sanitary items are available on request. The hotel is wheelchair-accessible and within walking distance of the train station. Those details matter for a hotel presenting itself as four-star, even if some seem minor. Keep your expectations in line if you choose to stay here.
