The balcony was a perfect place to watch the view change, with sunset over the hills and the moon coming up above Chäserrugg. Even the toilet had an amazing view. I could hear cowbells outside and see birds of prey gliding down the valley. It felt like a dream. My room at Gasthaus Friedegg was adorable, and the breakfast was delicious, with carefully chosen ingredients and a lovely local cheese. Daniel and the whole team made me feel so welcome. I was lucky to find a room at the last minute, and everything worked out beautifully. The location makes a convenient base for activities in the area. I’d highly recommend the Friedegg to anyone visiting.

We only came looking for coffee and didn’t stay at the hotel, but Daniel was so friendly and accommodating. He shared tips for getting around the area and even made us breakfast the next day. It’s a lovely place, and we’ll probably come back for a stay.

We went in just looking for a meal and came away with an experience we won’t forget. The seasonal food is fantastic, made with local or slow sourced ingredients. The Rösti was jaw dropping, and the desserts are handmade. You can feel how much the two owners care about what they do. They also have a small shop with their homemade goods, from salad dressings to original sauces and delicious dips, so bring a shopping bag. Can’t wait to return!

The rooms have recently been refurbished and were spotless. This lovely Gasthaus in Wildhaus also has breathtaking mountain views. A real hidden gem in the region.
