The staff were lovely and friendly, and the room felt cosy. The towels were thick and luxuriously soft, with nice toiletries and a bathrobe for the pool and spa. Breakfast had a fantastic setting, plenty to choose from, and a small menu for ordering egg dishes. We spent my 60th birthday here, and on the first evening we came back to find the bed turned down and a mini Toblerone on my nightwear. Such a lovely touch, thank you. Would we recommend it? 💯 yes.

This was my second stay at Hotel Alpenhof in Zermatt, and we can't wait to come back. The hotel is modern and beautifully designed, with a really relaxing feel. We especially loved the spa, which has both adults-only and family areas, and the perfect five-course dinner. Guests who book directly can use the e-bikes for free, definitely worth it. Thanks to the whole team!

The location was good, and I'd definitely stay here again. Staff were friendly and the rooms were great. There's a lot on offer, including a pick-up shuttle from the train station, mini Toblerone chocolates on the pillows, a spa with a pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room, plus a great breakfast.

We stayed three days in March 2026 and had a view of the river at the front of the hotel. The room was clean, modern, and comfortably warm. Breakfast, served in a lovely traditional restaurant, was amazing and among the best we've had. The spa was extremely clean and modern, better than many we've visited in England. We didn't use the sauna because it's a naked place, which apparently isn't uncommon. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Olya, who was super helpful.

The food, service, and clean room were all good. The heat was a problem, though. It was much too hot, and the only way to change that was to switch on the AC in the middle of winter, which made the air very dry. The finnish sauna design also meant it never got quite hot enough, with its high ceiling and oven and rather low benches. The location is convenient, but next time I'd choose somewhere closer to the Matterhorn Express lift, which connects to the biggest skiing area. The Sunnega area is still pretty good.
