The climbing decor and room naming convention were a real highlight, and the whole place has a great alpinism feel. The rooms are charming and clean, the ambiance is lovely, and the knowledge from a place run by climbers, including an IFMGA guide, was invaluable for us as climbers and adventurers. Breakfast and service were outstanding. The sauna was much needed for recovery, and there's ski storage too. I liked having the lobby space to prep gear, plus the bar and climbing library. The concierge gave us great restaurant recommendations. WiFi was a bit spotty in our room, but connectivity elsewhere in the building was strong enough for planning our trips. For a fuller spa experience, Capricorn is a couple of doors down.

Nini at the front desk was especially great. She helped us sort transport, reservations and activities even before we arrived, and her mountain knowledge was useful since it was our first time skiing in Zermatt. The whole team made us feel at home from the moment we got to BaseCamp. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and accommodated all our questions and requests. The hotel was spotless and comfortable, and breakfast was lovely. They even remembered our coffee order each morning. There were lots of thoughtful touches: a ski room with heated boot racks, shoe mats outside the rooms, and complimentary afternoon cake and coffee. They clearly care about making sure you have what you need. We had such a special stay that we're already planning another trip and will definitely be back.

Breakfast was excellent, and the hotel was spotless. We arranged transfers to and from the train station and everything went smoothly. The location was very good, just a few blocks from Zermatt's lively area. It was easily the best hotel we stayed at on our vacation this year, and choosing a room with a view was absolutely worth it. Ours was charming and cozy, with a sloped ceiling, a balcony overlooking town and the Matterhorn, and a bathroom with a glass ceiling.

A lovely hotel for people planning hikes or other outdoor activities, and I'd recommend it. It's far enough off the beaten path to be quiet, while the mountain-view rooms have incredible Matterhorn views. The rooms are large and spacious with excellent amenities. Breakfast is excellent too, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming.

The staff are super friendly and full of helpful tips for skiers and non-skiers alike. They seem to love the outdoors, and their enthusiasm is inspiring. We also loved the fireplace area, where homemade cakes are served in the afternoon. Our family room for four was cleverly designed and felt spacious, with even the top of the Matterhorn visible from the balcony. A wonderful stay at a warm, charming hotel. We'll definitely return.
