Hotel Firefly

My sister and I spent four nights at Hotel Firefly in October 2025, and it exceeded everything we expected. The suites were spacious, beautifully designed, and immaculate, with a kitchenette, comfortable living area, and balcony looking out at the mountains. The hotel has a warm, welcoming feel alongside its modern Alpine luxury. It's centrally located for the Gornergrat railway, shops, restaurants, and walking paths. We loved the comfort, elegance, and service, and would definitely choose Hotel Firefly again if we return to Zermatt.

The hotel was lovely, with a nice spa and good service. The frustrating part was breakfast: after being told at check in that vegan options could be arranged if we wrote it on the breakfast form, we did that on both days and there were basically no vegan choices. If I'd known, I would have gone to the coop on the first day. Luckily I planned ahead for the next day.

Booking from the other side of the world felt easy because the team responded quickly to my questions and shared helpful local information. When I arrived, everything went smoothly. The room was spacious and had great views and facilities. I also enjoyed the lively bar downstairs, plus the pool, spa, and gym. The branded towels and bath mats were a nice touch, and breakfast in your room at a wide choice of convenient times was awesome.

Breakfast delivered to the room at the time we chose was a real plus. There aren’t many obvious breakfast places in Zermatt, and meals out can easily cost $150CH or around $200, which is wild for food. We stayed five days and four nights as a family of five in a Chalet suite. The room was lovely, the staff attentive and flexible, and the views were amazing. It was also ideally placed for quick access to the upper gondolas. The pool area was usually quiet, and the pool and hot tub had a modern, high-end look.
