Hotel Elite Zermatt

I had a pleasant stay with Elite. The room I booked was nice, and the staff made the experience better. The woman at the lobby desk and the woman running the breakfast cafeteria in the morning especially stood out. Their warm greetings felt genuine throughout my stay.

We stayed last summer, in 2024, and had a great time. The hotel is central, with everything walkable, and you can get there on foot from the station. Since Zermatt is car-free, they arranged a small electric cab to pick us up. Our top-floor “Roof Junior Suite with Matterhorn view” was cosy with a cabin feel, a comfortable bed, a soft pull-out bed for two, and a nice Jacuzzi. When the clouds cleared, we had a good Matterhorn view. The elevator only reaches the floor below, so we had to carry our big suitcases up one flight of stairs. Breakfast was included, simple but good, in a small first-floor area, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The front desk closes at lunch and overnight, so late arrivals get their keys with instructions left for them. There’s also a storage room for bags after checkout. I’d recommend it, though, like many Swiss hotels in summer, it was pricey.

After a long day hiking, using the free sauna was fantastic. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and our room was nice, clean, and had a balcony. We had an excellent stay at Hotel Elite.

The breakfast was very limited, and I couldn’t really find anything I could eat. Mostly cheap bread, sugary jams and cereals, plus bad coffee. The hotel is clean, and there’s a large grocery store right next door. The receptionist was friendly too. But the building itself is old and sits just above some kind of pub, so food smells from the kitchen below can reach the room.
