Zermatt Budget Rooms

We chose a budget room and were delighted with it. It was unexpectedly spacious and comfortable, and the hotel's location was excellent. The warm pool was a treat, breakfast was outstanding and included, and the staff were phenomenal, always going above and beyond. For Zermatt, the value was fantastic. We'd highly recommend staying here.

The rooms were spacious and nice, and the pool, hot tub and wellness area were all great. There are several restaurants on site, and it's just a short walk to the shuttle to the mountain. Some construction was going on during our stay, but the assistant manager made things right.

The warm hospitality was the highlight, and I enjoyed every bit of the varied breakfast. I also got a room upgrade, which made a good stay even better. The location is convenient, about a 500 m walk from the railway station, and the hotel has lovely rooms, superb views and excellent facilities for such a small town. A rare find in Zermatt.

We booked the Alpine Resort's “budget” room expecting a low floor with no view, but were upgraded on arrival to a first-floor room overlooking the Matterhorn. The room was spacious, modern and thoughtfully decorated. Service, staff and location were all top notch, as were the complimentary shuttle, breakfast and spa. The spa has a sauna, steam room, onsen, indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, and quiet rooms with beds for relaxing. Breakfast offers European and American items. It's a five-minute walk from the Zermatt and Gronergrat train station, one minute from a convenience store, and less than ten minutes from many shops and restaurants. Alpine Resort deserves more than its four-star rating. I can't recommend it enough!
