The restaurant had outstanding food and service. It’s a small, quaint hotel within walking distance of Zug train station. Rooms are compact but clean and updated, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful.

I was very happy with my room and breakfast during my three-night business trip. The staff were kind and so helpful, especially the lovely ladies at reception. ❤️

The room was spotless, and the whole hotel stayed clean throughout my visit. The location was convenient, and the amenities were top-notch. From the moment I arrived, the staff at Hotel Zugertor were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. They took extra care to make my stay comfortable. I had an amazing, worry-free stay and would highly recommend it. I’ll definitely be back.

Breakfast had plenty of variety and was tasty, and the male receptionist was welcoming and suggested local spots popular with Swiss people, not just tourist attractions. The rooms were very clean, and bottled sparkling water was refreshed each day. The air conditioning is a huge plus in summer compared with hotels in Lucerne. Lucerne city center is about a 30-minute drive away, so it’s not close but still acceptable. The price is only slightly lower than in central Lucerne. Parking is available, though €16 per day feels expensive and can add up over several nights.
