Movenpick Hotel Zurich Airport

Yasmin and Eugene at reception were especially welcoming, friendly, and professional. We also got a generous room upgrade, which made things more comfortable, and the free welcome drink was a nice extra. The complimentary airport shuttle was efficient and handy. We had a very pleasant stay at Mövenpick Hotel Zürich Airport and would happily come back.

The airport shuttle was the one good part of this stay. The hotel is very dated, and the comfort and cleanliness fell short of what I expect from Accor. It felt overpriced, especially with no quick breakfast option for early flights even though every guest is charged a breakfast fee. My first room on the first floor, at the corner of the building, was so cold I couldn't even take my coat off. I was moved to another room, but it was just as cold. They offered a blower heater, but it was too noisy to use, so I turned it down. The room was outdated and smelled strange, the heating didn't work, the lighting was very poor, and the bathroom was dirty with mold on surfaces. I was also charged a 100 CHF security deposit at the front desk that hadn't been mentioned when I booked. I stayed one night while traveling, and the place looked as though it hadn't been renovated in 30 years.

The check-out encounter on Sunday morning was very disappointing. Two friends and I wanted to pay for the breakfast buffet separately, but an employee seemed to have trouble with the system. When we asked what the issue was, he spoke to us with real disrespect. That was far below the customer service I expect from an institution like yours and by Swiss standards. A very polite and kind woman from the team stepped in and calmed things down. Thank you to her, she was professional and met the high standard of your company. I'm not asking for compensation, I just wanted to share my view. I do still need help with the CHF 200 downpayment, which hasn't been released and hasn't come back to me. Could you please check on it? Thank you for the hospitality during our stay.

The shuttle bus was good, and so was dinner. It's a typical airport hotel, with large rooms. The room lighting was very, very poor, though, almost completely dark. But, well, it's an airport hotel.
