Muri Beachcomber

The location made it easy to have a beach holiday without a car. The bus stops right out front, and the resort is beside Muri markets, less than a minute from a 24-hour little supermarket and near five places to eat. You can also dine at other resorts, including Pacific. We enjoyed the kayaks, snorkelling gear and free bikes, and the guest laundry was a big help after we'd been travelling for eight days. The resort is peaceful and relaxing. I much preferred this side of Raro, and we saw turtles almost every day while kayaking, swimming and lounging on Muri Lagoon. There was also a room with a TV and shower for guests waiting for airport departures. We booked an extra night for our late flight and stayed in our room until 7 pm. The room change was a disappointing part of the stay. Nobody at reception told us when we checked in that we'd be moving the next day. We only found a letter on the table, and the young woman showing us the room wasn't sure it was right and said she'd check. The next room wasn't properly cleaned before we moved in after 2 pm. We knew the previous couple had been there three weeks, and the room needed a big clean. The floors were sticky and dirty, so I mopped them with a beach towel myself. The bedroom hadn't been aired and smelled strongly of sweat. Moving from clean room 3, which had a very comfortable bed, felt like a downgrade. The room change and staff experience were average. The woman who cleaned the room the following day did a fantastic job, and I tipped her. Hopefully we were just unlucky.

Everything was close by, including the night markets, swimming spots, kayaks and stand-up boards. The location was great, and we'll be back. Our unit was a good size, clean and tidy, and the hosts were friendly. We also had a new shower, which was great.

The lagoon is lovely, though it can smell a bit and the snorkelling right by the resort wasn't great. Luckily, an excellent snorkelling spot at a Marine park is only minutes away. The bikes, canoes and other amenities were all good, and the location can't be beaten for us, with great dining options, cafes, juice bars and the Night market next door. Muri Beachcomber is well kept, the views are amazing and the housekeeping staff are very friendly. We hope to come back.

We made good use of the free facilities, and the bikes were great quality. Airport transfers both ways went smoothly, and we really appreciated the extra late checkout. The rooms and location were 100 percent, with easy access to all kinds of water activities on muri lagoon. We'll be back next time. Thank you.
