The location worked well for me: it's in a relatively safe area, close enough to walk to the university's Angamos campus and plenty of good restaurants and bars, though a long way from the city center. My room looked out over the Ocean and had a kitchenette, so it felt like a mini-apartment. The family-run Italian-Sicilian restaurant was a welcome surprise in Antofagasta, especially the arancine siciliane. One downside was the single-pane window, which let in a lot of street noise during the day.

We loved the beachfront setting and the view, especially when the windows were clean, but there were too many problems for a longer stay. Breakfast runs until 10 am, yet by 9:30 am there was hardly anything left, even with another couple still waiting after us. The pool was on the cold side and quite small. Noise was the big issue: the air conditioning sounded like a jet engine, while leaving the window open meant traffic all night. Shame, we were hoping to stay several nights, but I don't think we'll return.
