I got a comfortable room, and the showers had hot water. It’s near the bus terminal, the mall, and restaurants.

Stay at Hotel Plaza Colón instead, it’s better. This was awful. The place is bizarre and the service was terrible. They promise hot water, a basic thing, but it never comes. First they blame the gas, then say to wait, but there’s still no hot water. The rooms are what you’d expect at a roadside inn, without any chance of getting a hot shower. And yes, the service really was awful. They charged more than the amount shown on Booking and insisted on keeping our room key while we went out, with all our things still inside. We handed it over to the universe and went for a walk, but only because we had no other choice.

The bed smelled like feet, and the towels looked like they’d been reused for 10 years. The shower floor was filthy, the remote control was broken, and so was an electrical outlet. All that for exorbitant prices, on top of a dirty bed and painted walls. The hotel was incredibly run down.

Clean, tidy, comfortable, and with good service. If you’re passing through from a neighboring country on the way to Santiago, or going the other way, this is the best option in the area, in my view. Staying a night works well.
