Atankalama

Breakfast was good, and the staff there were very friendly. The bathroom was also fantastic and clean, though the wastebasket hadn't been emptied. The room's safety locker still wasn't fixed after I asked, and several bulbs were out until I requested replacements. The hotel itself is beautiful, with excellent facilities and a lovely garden. The Italian owner has great taste in the design, but she lives far away in Santiago. Perhaps that's why the place seems to be going downhill. Nobody welcomed us on arrival, and we were simply told the whole bill had to be paid then. The pool was beautiful but had dirt on the surface and bottom, and there was construction waste among the garden plants. It could have been so much better.

The room was huge and amazing, and breakfast was perfect. Everything was tidy and smelled lovely. The garden was beautiful, and the people were incredibly nice. We had perfect service and a wonderful stay!

We stayed two nights with our young family on the way to San Pedro de Atacama, and this little hotel was such a lovely find. Atankalama was super clean, with comfortable beds and great linens. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was free and great, and the courtyard felt like a little oasis where we could spend the day. We'd highly recommend it if you're looking to avoid the big chain hotels.
