I tried the EQ Chardonnay, Pinot noir, and Syrah, and sent all three tastings back to the glass. The Chardonnay was like butter mixed with nail polish remover. The Pinot noir was flat, too cold, and tasted like muddled crayons. The Syrah was hard to place, like biting into a plum with sugar and vodka added. They call this their upper-end wine line, but I’d be embarrassed to serve any of it. Save your time, open the bottle and pour it straight into the toilet. I wrote my first reaction hastily and wanted to be fairer. I still wouldn’t give this wine to someone in withdrawal. Abominable.

The meal and wine were delicious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a little on the expensive side, but the beautiful, peaceful setting made for a relaxing afternoon. We drove from Santiago for lunch and weren’t disappointed. I’d highly recommend it.

The tour was interesting, and the guides spoke both English and Spanish. We tasted four wines in the lovely gardens, with a cheeseboard, duck pond, and kids’ play area nearby. The Equilibrio restaurant was nice too. Had a great time at this boutique vineyard, highly recommended.

I felt welcome the whole time, and Pablo was a great attendant at the restaurant at night. The bed was the best I’ve had in a long time, with exceptional sheets. Great wines too, and Matetic is my favorite. I recommend it.
