When I had a heart emergency and needed an ambulance, the people at this Hostal helped my wife and me get to and from two different hospitals. Pablo also found us a driver to get back to Santiago, and we made it home safely. We were incredibly grateful for their care and friendship. We spent over five days here, and the restaurant food was excellent. Tracy thought the Chupe de Jaibe was the best she'd ever had in Chile, and we also enjoyed meat, pasta, salads, and more. Carlos the waiter was one of the best people we've ever met, and Ivan and Carlos at the desk were so helpful. The staff moved us straight away when I worried our room, which had no window, felt like a tomb. The new room had windows and air circulation. I have some trouble with stairs because of my knees, but I could still enjoy this unique, magnificent place. We feel lucky to have stayed here. Thanks again to Carlos, Ivan, and Pablo for all your help.

The staff were friendly, though the rooms had no windows. Breakfast was minimal, and the restaurant was closed. It's also quite a way uphill from downtown.

The train delay was understandable as a force majeure situation, but we weren't given any explanation despite asking the train staff several times. Something very strange happened that day: the train ran over a homeless person. Police came to check on him, and luckily he was only bruised and otherwise unharmed. The place was entertaining, beautiful, and clean. The incident held up our trip.

The service was awful. The only trains worse were the ones to Auschwitz. The staff were rude and couldn't organize any kind of improvement, though with the company paying them so poorly, maybe the blame belongs with those stingy people at the top. You thieving monopolists and profiteers should go break rocks in Patagonia!

There was plenty of room, and the staff were friendly, which made for a welcoming atmosphere. It's a bit of a walk from the center, though still manageable on foot.
