About eight minutes from the bus terminal, the location made this a handy stop in Puerto Natales, especially on the way to or from Torres del Paine. The beds were very comfortable, and the clean, cozy hostel has rooms that feel quite spacious for this kind of place. Breakfast was tasty with options for everyone. The staff were kind and helpful, and spoke English and even Polish 🙂 Highly recommended for a short stay.

They let me leave some of my luggage safely here while I was away for a five-day trek in Torres del Paine, which I really appreciated. The hostel is good value and serves a good breakfast. Staff were friendly and always ready to help with anything.

We left our bags here while we were away on our trek. This was a great value, clean place to stay before and after the W Trek, with friendly service, good Wi-Fi, and a pretty good breakfast.

After my son and I finished the O trek in Torres Del Paine, we found the place clean, the beds comfortable, and the staff friendly. It's near the bus station, and we had a really nice bathroom in our room. Breakfast was my one small reservation. After leaving a hostal, there's often a long day of travel, so something more substantial would have been welcome. At $85, it also cost a bit more than the other hostal where we stayed. Still, I'd come back and recommend it to people heading to or returning from Torres Del Paine.

A useful tip for foreign visitors: bring cash in USD or Euro to avoid the 19% tax when paying for your room. We loved staying at Hostal La Base during our Patagonia trip, especially before and after the W trek, since they stored our luggage for free. The bus terminal in Puerto Natales is only a few blocks away, making it easy to get to TDP or El Calafate. Our room was spacious, and the bathroom was very clean with toiletries well stocked. Breakfast runs from 6-10am, with hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, bread, ham and cheese, coffee/te, juice, yogurt, and cereal. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
