I’d recommend learning at least a few words of Spanish before staying here, as it could make the experience much better. My Spanish is very basic, but the host lady was happy to have simple conversations with me. I can see how guests who speak no Spanish might struggle to communicate and might feel she doesn’t fully trust them. That could be where some of the negative reviews come from. I arrived feeling uneasy after reading all the reviews about a scary host who controls guests, but after a couple of nights I couldn’t agree less. She’s really nice, the rooms are comfortable, and there are common spaces to prepare food, plus free tea and coffee. The location is fairly good and the price is very competitive. I wanted to write this to give the place a fair review.

It was quiet, and the hospitality from the old lady was great. The hostel lived up to the rumors, in a good way. The harsh white lighting hurt my eyes, though, and when it gets that quiet, it can feel a little spooky. Maybe bring garlic in case of ghosts, idk bro.

I’d read some of the reviews and was expecting the worst, but by then it was too late to cancel. The staff seemed friendly, the place was really quiet, and the rooms were spacious. The bathrooms were clean, there was a TV, we could use the bowls and cutlery, and there were free water refills. For the money, I can’t complain. We were there off season, so I don’t know how it is during peak season.

Good for a short stay, especially on a budget, but I wouldn’t recommend it for longer. The rooms are cozy, clean, and very simple. You can’t open the windows, though, and the air in the room smells moldy because of that.

The owner seemed a little rough around the edges at first, but turned out to be a very sweet lady. There are big areas for eating, hanging out, and storing food, with free tea and coffee, and luggage storage after checkout doesn’t cost anything. The rooms and facilities are very clean, though the bedrooms aren’t very big. It’s a spacious hostel for an excellent price. The mattresses squeak a bit, and the neighborhood isn’t the best, but I can recommend the place.
