Patagonia House

It was loud all the time. The walls are so thin you hear everything, and the place wasn’t very clean, though that didn’t bother me too much. When I arrived, the owner was away and sent quite aggressive texts telling us where our room was. I’d booked a four-bed dorm but got put in a six-bed one because three men were in the four-bed room. He left the choice up to me, but the whole situation was really vague. A girl volunteering at reception seemed terrified and was crying at night. I slept in the same bunk as her. I really hope she’s okay.

The room hadn’t been prepared at all, and every bed had been used without fresh bedding. The owner said he’d been out partying the night before, which was why nothing was done. The place smelled like sweaty feet, and there was a gun left openly on the couch with a kid in the room. I felt uncomfortable as soon as we arrived. The owner wasn’t there and texted us where to find our room. At first he seemed nice, but later he got very angry and argued when we said we’d stay somewhere else. It all felt really unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The common area had a warm feel and was nice to spend time in, and the dorm was spacious. But the cleanliness was really disappointing, especially in the kitchen. With so many people there, having only one toilet and one shower was inconvenient.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and there were free tea and coffee. The beds were nice, and couches throughout the hostel made it comfortable for relaxing. It seemed to be in the town’s nightclub area, but I didn’t notice much noise at night. Paying by card was a bit of a hassle since they prefer cash. It’s another good budget hostel to stay at.
